Lagoon Resort

Welcome to Lagoon Resort, not only the closest offshore resort to Kampala, but without question, the most beautiful and relaxing. Set amongst 10 acres of unspoilt natural beauty, the resort is only 25 minutes, with our 28ft handmade boat, from our official mainland landing point in Munyonyo.

The resort is in the middle area of a large bay, giving visitors a wonderful view of Lake Victoria, as well as making the resort home to a great many birds, and some cheeky monkeys too.

Your visit to Lagoon Resort will make you feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and you’ll return home refreshed and relaxed.

Lagoon resort

Set amongst the natural forest, our six buildings that make up the African Village – Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard, Rhino and Silverback – offer guests some of the best accommodation in Uganda.

Built on raised wooden platforms, these grass thatched ensuite buildings provide ideal accommodation for two with our handmade queen size bed. We can also offer an extra single bed for children upon request.

The shower is supplied with hot water from our natural well. Enjoy a drink on the covered balcony as you sit gazing at the forest spotting birds and monkeys, or take a relaxing dip in the pool.

We provide a mosquito net, linen bedding, towels and torches.
Guests staying at the African Village can enjoy a free boat service to bring them to the resort and back to the mainland at the end of their stay.

The Restaurant

Lagoon Resort is very proud of its restaurant. The building has been uniquely designed and offers wonderfully diverse views of the landscaped botanical gardens and Lake Victoria.

All the furniture has been designed and handmade by accomplished Ugandan artists and craftsmen, making it absolutely unique to the resort.

The restaurant has an extensive menu, offering Inter-Continental cuisine prepared by our European trained Master Chef, and a great selection of fine wines from around the world.

If you just fancy a drink, the Gecko Bar has a wide range of beers and spirits, all served by the friendliest barman in Uganda.

The bar is extremely unique, designed by Mark Pirani, combining a wonderful blend of wood and stone. Alternatively, you can enjoy a meal or drink in our beautiful gardens with stunning views of Lake Victoria. We also have an open fire in the gardens, ideal for warming your bones from the cool breeze we get from the lake while enjoying your favourite drink.

Activities
Lagoon Resort offers its guests a wide range of activities to keep them entertained while they are with us.

Sport Fishing
Guests have several options when it comes to fishing. You can try your luck from our 40 metre jetty or hire one of our motorboats and try your luck out on Lake Victoria. Whatever you catch, we have a very large barbecue grill where you can cook your catch or get our Chef to help you out. All this activities are on prebooking. Fishing on our jetty , (equipment for hire $5 per person).
Fishing half day (07.00-13.00) with the motorboat including fishing equipment $150 per person.

Bird Watching
The resort has a great many different birds including Hornbills, Kingfishers and even parrots. We have constructed a wooden platform that provides an excellent place to view many of the different species.

Garden
Enjoy a stroll, a drink or a bite to eat in our beautiful landscaped garden. You’ll see many botanical plants and trees. We even have a salad garden with a wide range of crops including plants from Brazil and Germany.

Sunset Platform
Enjoy a sundowner drink from our woodland sunset platform with stunning views of Lake Victoria.

Swimming
Relax by taking a refreshing dip in the pool, which includes a safe swimming area for children.

Reading
We have a small, but growing, library and we’re more than happy to receive new additions of books our guests have finished with. We also have a lot of literature on Uganda tourist sites.

Tours & Travel
Lagoon Resort and Safari Uganda, specializing in bringing tourists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, are the same owners.

We charge $95 for lunch and dinner on parbuckling.

Deposits and Payments
A deposit of 10% is required on confirmation of your booking. If the booking is cancelled within 120 days prior to arrival, this deposit will be forfeited. The balance or full payment must be made 21 days prior to arrival.

Special Deposits
On occasions, the Company may deem it necessary that the Agent pays a deposit for special seasons, holidays or events. The Agent agrees that these deposits will be paid.

Cancellation and No-Show
Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in numbers (hereinafter collectively called a CANCELLATION) are subject to Cancellation and No-Show fees at the discretion of the Company under the following terns:

1. 31-14 days prior to departure = 25% cancellation fee will be charged
2. 13-8 days = 50% cancellation fee will be charged
3. 7-4 days = 75% cancellation fee will be charged
4. 3 days or less = 100% cancellation fee will be charged

In all cases, notification of cancellation is only accepted when received by email and a confirmation of receipt of the cancellation email has been given by the Company. Emails must be sent to lagoon.resort@yahoo.com

Government Taxes
Should the Government increase taxes or institute new taxes, Lagoon Resort reserves the right to increase the rates in this document accordingly.

Loss or Damage to Property and Personal Injury

Lagoon Resort accepts the Liability of an Innkeeper at common law as modified by the Hotels Act CAP94, Laws of Uganda, in respect of any property of a visitor that is lost or damaged at the resort. Valuables can be stored in a lockable safe at Reception. Lagoon Resort has no liability for personal injury whether by the willful or negligent acts of its servants or agents (whether fatal or otherwise) suffered by a visitor at the resort or, on any activity (walking, driving, swimming, fishing, boating, cycling or any other activities connected to Lagoon Resort). In particular, but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing condition, visitors are aware and accept the risk of loss or damage of property or personal injury.

All cheques should be made payable to King’s Lagoon Resort Limited and must be deposited at Orient Bank, main branch, located on Kampala Road, Kampala in to account number 1497260202. Deposits should be confirmed either by calling the Company on 0777511339 or 0773212741 or by email to lagoon.resort@yahoo.com.
