In December 2011 i joined a 9 day trek with Rwenzori Trekking Services (not to be confused with RMS!) The trip was to the summit of Margherita Peak of Mt Stanley, up through jungle, bamboo forest, another forest and very high, there is moorland with odd aplm like trees. Accommodation was basic but comfortable, food was plentiful (too much) but it’s worth taking some snack bars imho.
For a very small fee i was provided with a pair of gumboots for use on the trek. Turned out to be the best 5 bucks i’ve spent in a long time. There is plenty of mud to plod through, this can make it quite tiring with long days, and it will probably rain, or hail or even snow at least once. Can be tough, but worth it.
The trip was fantastic, scenery amazing. The porters were great and very friendly. The guides were calm and very professional. Ice-axe, crampons, helmet and harness are included in your fee (no extras) and we (myself and 2 others) felt very comfortable with the guides on the ice and rock on top of the mountain.
Top marks to RTS, thank you!

Did a trip with this new company to Rwenzoris N.P. in October 2011. They offer Kilembe trail which is a new route starting from Kilembe. Service was perfect, guides were very nice and professional. We climbed up to Weissmann peak without any problem. We also did a short budget safari with them and were surprised with provided service (great driver, rangers in parks included, perfect food on the way, etc.). It was a great experience thanks to Rwenzori Trekking Services!
