Radio Streaming Android App
Live Radio Station Mobile App is a dedicated mobile application for a single radio station. It gives listeners a beautiful, fast, and reliable way to stream the station live, catch up on recorded shows and mixtapes, send donations directly to the station, and stay connected through push notifications for live programmes and news.
Unlike generic radio directory apps, this app is fully branded for one station — every screen, colour, and feature is built around that station’s identity and audience. The admin team manages all content, banners, push alerts, and donation records from a clean web-based admin panel, with no technical knowledge required
Features
Live stream
Streams the station’s live broadcast in real time over HTTP/HTTPS. Supports MP3, AAC, M3U, M3U8, and PLS stream formats.
Background playback
Continues playing when the screen is off, the user switches apps, or the phone is locked.
Lock screen controls
Play, pause, and stop controls appear on the lock screen and in the Android notification shade.
ICY metadata
Displays the current song title and artist name as broadcast by the station’s Icecast/Shoutcast server in real time on the Now Playing screen.
Auto-stop timer
Listener sets a sleep timer (15, 30, 60, 90 min or custom) and the stream stops automatically.
Stream quality selector
If the station provides multiple bitrates (e.g. 64kbps and 128kbps), the listener can choose based on their data connection.
Mixtape library
A scrollable list of uploaded audio episodes (shows, mixtapes, interviews). Each entry shows title, presenter, date, duration, and cover art.

Admin upload
Station staff upload MP3 files directly from the admin panel with title, presenter name, cover image, category, and publish date.
Song / shoutout request
A simple form where listeners submit a song request or shoutout message. Submissions are delivered to the studio.
Donations
Donations are processed directly through MTN MoMo and Airtel Money
Banners & Advertising
Up to 3 banner positions in the app: home screen top, player screen bottom, and mixtapes list top.
